Guidelines for Adolescent Depression in Primary Care (GLAD-PC)

This guide was mentioned in the Mind-Body Connections session by Dr. Melissa Young. This toolkit was published by the REACH Institute and offers information, recommendations, educational resources, and tools to aid in the management of adolescent depression in primary care. It was designed to be user-friendly and applicable to real-world primary care practices.

Canadian 24-hour Movement Guidelines for Children & Youth

(Review PDF)

This guide was mentioned in our Exercise Counselling and Prescription in Paediatric Chronic Disease by Dr. Barbara Cifra. This is a four step guide for children and youth ages 5 – 17 years old, created by Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP). The Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for Children and Youth are the first evidence-based guidelines to address the whole day.

Serious Illness Conversation Guide

(Review PDF)

The guide was created by BC Cancer Provincial Health Services Authority and was mentioned in the session on Trauma Informed Care by Kathy Netten. This guide provides a 7-step frame work to navigate serious illness conversations. It also includes examples of patient-tested language.

Managing Headache Pain

(Review PDF)

This guide was mentioned in the Headache Pain session by Dr. Daune Macgregor. This guide provides recommendations around sleep, diet, hydration, exercise, technology use and nutriceuticals for managing headache pain. The guide was created by the The Hospital for Sick Children: The Division of Neurology and the Department of Social Work in collaboration with Women’s College Hospital.

This guide was mentioned in the Palliative Care Emergencies session by Dr. Gregorio Zuniga. This guide was published by Together for Short Lives, a UK charity for children and families living with a life-threatening conditions. This guide focuses on essential information about paediatric palliative care, service planning and delivery, the workforce, education and training and research and evidence-based practice.

The Palliative Response – Guidelines for Pronouncement

This guide was mentioned in the session Preparing for death and the time that follows session by Lori Ives-Baine & Francis Macapagal. This guide was mentioned in the Gastroesophageal reflux in children with medical complexity by Jas Otal. These figures (6 & 7) are from an article published in the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology Nutrition. It serves as an update for the 2009 clinical guidelines for the management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Disease (GERD) in infants and children.
