By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand the prevalence of constipation in children with medical complexity
- Recognize the importance of managing constipation in children with medical complexity
- Gain an approach to the management of constipation in this population using an individual patient and family centered approach
Dr. Michelle Gould, MD, Children’s Hospital of LA
Michelle Gould is an Advanced Neurogastroenterology and Motility Fellow at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, University of Southern California. Prior to this, she completed her pediatric residency and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children. She has a particular interest in in motility disorders of the lower gastrointestinal tract and recently completed a Master’s degree in clinical epidemiology and health care research with a thesis focused on the impact of advanced surgical management for the treatment of chronic constipation on health care utilization.
