Adolescent Considerations including Paediatric to Adulthood

Vina has lived with persistent pain for over a decade and copes with her pain by turning it into her purpose. For Vina, this means sharing her story (@VinaMohabir), advocating for others in pain, and working in research at The Hospital for Sick Children. It has always been her dream to make a difference in the lives of children and teens with pain, and she feels extremely honoured to represent such a resilient, courageous, persistent community.

Sarah Sheffe is an Occupational Therapist at the Toronto Academic Pain Medicine Institute at Women’s College Hospital (TAPMI). She leads the TAPMI Young Adult Clinic for pain. Sarah co-chairs the Ontario Chronic Pain Network Transition Aged Task Force, which has put out a guideline on pediatric to adult health care transition in chronic pain in Ontario. She is also involved in research on transition success in chronic pain care. Sarah is a co-author of the book, “Changing your pain pathways: Ways to cope with pain in daily life.”
