Ethics in Paediatric Palliative Care

  • To identify common ethical issues encountered at the end-of-life in pediatrics
  • To review common principles of pediatric ethics and provide a framework for approaching challenging ethical issues
  • To explore a number of challenging cases

Dr. Kevin Weingarten, MD at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)

Dr. Kevin Weingarten trained at Sickkids in the Department of Paediatrics and Haematology / Oncology, before completing a fellowship in Paediatric Palliative Care at Boston Children’s Hospital. He completed a masters of bioethics through the Joint Center for Bioethics at the University of Toronto in 2014. He currently splits his clinical time between Oncology and Palliative Care and is the Program Director for the palliative care fellowship at SickKids.
