By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the role of OT in the management of oral feeding in infants and children with medical complexity
- Gain information about different issues that may impact oral feeding
- Become familiar with intervention strategies that may be recommended by OT
- Understand the utility and limitations of a video swallow study/feeding study for this population
Didactic Speakers
Carly Mutch is an occupational therapist who has worked in paediatric medicine and complex care at Sick Kids for the past 22 years. She has a wealth of experience working with infants and children with complex feeding and swallowing issues.
Sherna Marcus is an occupational therapist who has worked extensively with infants and children with complex feeding and swallowing issues at Sick Kids for the past 33 years. She currently works in paediatric medicine and complex care and is the author of 3 books on paediatric feeding and swallowing.
