Pain at End-of-Life

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain an approach to pain at end of life (EOL)
  • Describe treatment modalities for pain at EOL
  • Highlight key aspects of pain management counselling

Dr. Natalie Jewitt, MD at the Hospital of Sick Children

Natalie studied psychology at McGill University, and subsequently worked as a psychometrist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for 3 years. Natalie then attended medical school at the University of Toronto, completed her paediatrics residency at SickKids and was one of the chief residents in her final year. Natalie completed a Paediatric Palliative Care Fellowship at SickKids and is in her second year of a Masters of Bioethics at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She recently joined the Paediatric Advanced Care Team as a staff paediatrician.
