Weight Stigma in Paediatric Obesity
Dr. Angela Alberga, BSc, MSc, PhD, Concordia University
Dr. Angela Alberga is an exercise physiologist by training having completed her MSc and PhD at the University of Ottawa focusing on the effects of exercise training on improving overall health in adolescents living with obesity. She pursued two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Calgary on the psychosocial aspects of body weight with a particular focus on reducing weight bias, stigma and discrimination towards children and adults living in large bodies. Dr. Angela Alberga is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology at Concordia University and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
